Messi’s signature slalom run set up his team’s late equalizer as the game ended 2-2.

The Barcelona veteran, however, seemed dissatisfied with his team’s performance in their MLS opener after the final whistle.

As Messi’s tantrum started, he first scolded referee Rosendo Mendoza.

The referee stepped aside and motioned for the playmaker to go, but Messi continued to approach him.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner was given a yellow card by the official as he kept talking and pointing at Mendoza.

Despite this, Messi persisted in his tirade until eventually leaving the field.

The Argie bargy didn’t stop there, though.

The tiny Argentinian became even more agitated by that and shielded his mouth with his palm during their heated argument.

Then, in an attempt to defuse the tense situation, two Inter Miami assistants joined the argument.

Messi appeared to be about to leave the scene at that point, but he came back and touched Ballouchy’s neck.

Moroccan Ballouchy gave Messi a quick look, as if displeased with his behavior.

Messi, who was by this point leaving the field, motioned for the coach to accompany him.

Miami’s Tomas Aviles got sent off in the 23rd minute of a tense contest.

Inter Miami’s next matchup is against Sporting KC on Tuesday in the CONCACAF Champions Cup first round.
