Two tennis giants Venus and Sharapova compete in beauty and figure on the fashion red carpet

Venus and Sharapova are two outstanding tennis stars with outstanding fashion sense.

On December 2, WTA tennis legends Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams attracted much attention at The Fashion Awards 2024 held at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Once dominant tennis icons, both have also asserted their position in the fashion world with outstanding and individual style.

Contrasting styles, timeless looks

Venus Williams, 44, wore a boldly cut black jumpsuit, paired with Capri pants and a chic leather-trimmed fur coat. The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion also opted for classic black heels to complete her look.

In contrast, Maria Sharapova, 37, stood out with elegance in a cream-colored jacket and skirt. Her minimalist yet sophisticated style received many compliments from fashionistas.

Social media audiences also did not hesitate to praise the two “big sisters” of the tennis world.

One account wrote: “Masha’s style never disappoints.”

“Maria looks like a beige version of Dolores Umbridge (a fictional character in the Harry Potter series),” another said of Sharapova.Other viewers praised the Williams sister: “Venus has an attractive fashion style, always the most charming person”.

Two good tennis players, beautiful and fashionable

In their careers, Sharapova and Venus have met eight times, with the Russian having a 5-3 advantage (5 wins, 3 losses). Their most memorable match was probably the 2005 Wimbledon semi-final, where Venus won in two tense sets (7-6, 6-1), eliminating defending champion Sharapova.

Both of them not only left their mark on the field but also attracted much attention at fashion events. From the peak years of their careers until their retirement, they still maintained a strong appeal through prestigious events.

Sharapova once said: “Fashion is a way for me to express my personality outside of tennis.”

Meanwhile, Venus always prides herself: “I want to inspire that women of any age can be confident and shine.”

The two “big sisters” have proven that, whether on the field or on the red carpet, they are true icons.
