Marco Asensio is said to be close to a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer when his Real Madrid contract expires.
The Madrid winger will become a free agent at the end of the season and is set to leave the Spanish giants.
Asensio is in advanced talks to move to join French giants PSG, despite being offered a new contract by his current club, according to ESPN.
In April it was reported that the Spaniard was close to committing his future to Madrid, but discussions appeared to have broken down towards the end of the season.
Asensio has apparently turned down the offer and has now agreed with his agent Jorge Mendes that finding a new club is the best option.
Mendes and PSG’s chief negotiator Luis Campos is said to have a strong relationship, which was key to securing a deal for Asensio to join the Ligue 1 champions.
Arsenal had previously negotiated with Asensio but it seemed they could not convince him that a move to the Premier League was the best option.
The 27-year-old is clearly angered by not being able to play at Real Madrid this season, where he has only played 15 of 36 La Liga games.
His minutes were reduced as Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde continued to push forward, who were favored by Carlo Ancelotti on the flanks or assists from Asensio.
Asensio will leave Madrid with a glittering career CV with three Champions League titles and three top Spanish titles.
PSG is gearing up for a summer departure that will see World Cup-winning Argentina captain Lionel Messi leave after his contract expires.
Messi could return to his childhood club Barcelona, who have stated that they will do everything they can to bring him back to the club.
There is also information that PSG head coach Christophe Galtier is likely to leave after only 1 season leading the Parc des Princes team.
Former Spain head coach Luis Enrique has been linked with the role in recent days after club heads ‘unanimously agreed’ that he would be a good fit.
Talented superstar Neymar could also be leaving in the upcoming transfer window as PSG look to cash in on one of their stars. Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has refused to rule out a move for the Brazilian.
