Serena’s Big News Sends Shockwaves – What She Just Shared Is Game-Changing

All-time great tennis icon Serena Williams is stepping behind the camera for her latest business venture.

On Monday, the 23-time Grand Slam champion announced her new role as executive producer for a Netflix series adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s best-selling novel Carrie Soto Is Back.

The story follows 37-year-old tennis icon Carrie Soto as she comes out of retirement to defend her Grand Slam title record threatened by a young, up-and-coming star.

Reid has been very open about Williams’ influence on the character.

“My incredible respect for the Williams sisters is part of what makes me interested in tennis,” Reid said in an interview at the time of the book’s release in 2022. “I wouldn’t write a book about tennis without the influence of just the absolute glory that has been their journey, but also specifically Serena’s quest to get as many Grand Slam titles as she has managed to do.”

Williams shared the announcement on social media.

Fans took to the comment section to react to this news.

“IM SO HYPED, I freaking love this book,” one wrote.

“Serena Williams do NOT LET ME DOWN,” another said.

“Oh this is very exciting. This is my favourite TJR book,” another added.

“I enjoyed this book a lot! Can’t wait to see this!” another said.

This isn’t Williams’ first producing gig. In 2024, the retired tennis icon executive produced her biographical documentary series, In the Arena: Serena Wiliams. She also served as an executive producer for the 2021 film King Richard, alongside her sister, Venus.
