Roger Federer wowed his supporters with his humility by flying in coach.

Roger Federer has traveled to various places around the world in recent weeks. He is a very busy man despite not being on the active list of players. The Swiss Maestro was in the United States for the Met Gala 2023, then moved to South Beach to attend the Formula 1 race in Miami.

Then Roger and his family traveled to the enclave in Lesotho, South Africa, where he met with local authorities, who received support from the Roger Federer Foundation. Federer then returned to South Africa, where he was filmed boarding an economy class flight to Johannesburg.

The fan who filmed it, as reported by Luigi Gatto’s Tweet, said: “Truly magnetized with the simplicity of the legend that he himself is a 20 times Grand Slam winner. The No. 1 tennis player in the world! Just the name Roger Federer.

I still find it hard to believe we were in the same breakaway and he was just for my seat back on the way to Johannesburg airport!”

Federer will be in Halle for the 30th anniversary of the tournament Roger Federer has triumphed on grass in Halle ten times in his career.

The first dates back to 2003, twenty years ago, when he triumphed against Kiefer; the last one, which was also the penultimate title of his career, in 2019, defeating David Goffin in the final. A balance of 69 victories and only 8 defeats for the former Swiss tennis player in the German ATP 500 tournament, with the last participation taking place in 2021.

The last match played in this event was the defeat suffered by the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime at second round of the tournament. It will not be the last memory, however, that the twenty-time Grand Slam champion will live in Halle: he will return for a special event.

As reported by the official profile of the tournament, Roger Federer will be awarded at the ATP 500 in Halle, which will be held from 19 to 25 June 2023. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the German tournament, the Swiss will be part of the celebrations which will take place on the 21st, shortly after the start of the tournament, on the tournament center court.

“I can’t wait to go back to one of my all-time favorite tournaments on the ATP Tour. It is an honor to come and help the tournament celebrate this important anniversary in Halle,” said the Swiss Legend.
