Pogba was present at the Inter Miami match. |
Since his ban was reduced, Pogba has attracted interest from many of the world’s top clubs. While some clubs in the Saudi Pro League and MLS have expressed interest, Pogba has preferred to play for a top European team.
Marseille were previously thought to be Pogba’s most likely destination, with the club’s sporting director, Medhi Benatia, confirming his interest in the Frenchman. Recently, British media revealed that the midfielder, born in 1993, is also in talks with Manchester United over a short-term contract.
However, a new development has emerged that makes the possibility of Pogba playing in MLS all the more likely. Pogba’s connection to Inter Miami became even more apparent when he was spotted meeting with the club’s owner, David Beckham, ahead of Inter Miami’s MLS opener against New York City FC.
Pogba’s image at this match, along with photos taken with Beckham, has given more basis to speculation about him joining Inter Miami.
In particular, the odds on Pogba signing for Inter Miami have risen to 9/4, surpassing both Marseille and Manchester United, whose odds are just 9/2.
However, if Pogba joins Inter Miami, he may have to say goodbye to the French national team. Except for superstar Lionel Messi, players from Europe who move to the US have almost no chance to contribute to the national team.
