Mitsubishi XRT Concept debuted as an image of the next generation Triton pickup truck

The 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show unveiled the Mitsubishi XRT Concept, which provides a sneak peek of the upcoming Triton pickup truck. The vehicle is set to be released later this year to rival other popular pickup trucks like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.

The new concept of the Mitsubishi pickup truck looks like a camouflaged Triton prototype with off-road accessories.

A special wrap inspired by “condensed lava rock” covers the entire bodywork, side windows and lighting elements, giving it the look of a military vehicle, while the Ralliart logo on the bodywork. shows off Mitsubishi’s motorsport heritage.

Although camouflaged, the entire design of the new model can be seen, including the split headlights, boxy grille and strong ribs with toned fenders.

In addition, this concept model is also equipped with mud terrain tires, a tubular structure in the rear with two spare wheels, a snorkel, steps up and down and an extended fender.

Mitsubishi did not provide vehicle specifications, but it is possible that the next-generation Triton pickup will be based on a reworked version of the Navara’s ladder chassis and equipped with a diesel powertrain.

The Mitsubishi XRT Concept will be on display at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand from March 21 to April 2. The automaker has not announced the launch date of the production version, but said the model. will be available in Thailand in 2023, followed by ASEAN, Oceania and other global markets.
