After his nation defeated rivals Brazil on Saturday, the Barcelona legend finally put an end to his long quest for a major international prize.

After Angel Di Maria scored the game-winning goal, it was also their first major prize in 28 years.

Thus, as the striker came off the plane, it is not surprising that Messi and Antonela were overtaken with emotion.

On Sunday, Messi arrived in his birthplace of Rosario, where Antonela rushed to embrace him.

Before Messi took the time to sign autographs for the fans who had gathered at the airport, the two enjoyed a long embrace and kiss.

After dating for more than 20 years, Messi and Antonela, who had been childhood sweethearts, got married in 2017.

Together, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro are their three boys.

Unsurprisingly, Messi and his teammates received a hero’s welcome upon their return to Argentina after breaking their curse.

In honor of his family and the late Diego Maradona, who passed away in November, the 34-year-old dedicated the victory.

I want to dedicate this accomplishment to my family, who have always given me the willpower to keep going,” he stated.
