Since we can’t go to the salon since we’re under lockdown, we might as well all shave our heads and dye them a shockingly vivid color if we’re feeling really daring.

But what color should you choose? And how can I muffle that brassy sound? You need go no further than basketball player and all-around me𝚗’s style legend Dennis Rodman for inspiration in the coming weeks.

While playing basketball with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s and early 2000s, Rodman’s hair was almost as much of a topic of conversation as his performance on the court. Every game, Rodman would come out of the locker room wearing a new color, pattern, or style, and it was (and still is) a sight to behold. If you need more convincing, just watch The Last Dance, the smаsh Һit documentary on Netflix (trust me, you won’t be sorry).

Therefore, in honor of Rodman’s uninhibited hair choices, we’ve taken a look back at some of his most memorable looks from on and off the court.

Done Deal

In this 1995 photograph from an NBA game, Dennis Rodman expresses his displeasure with a call made against the New York Knicks. The music video for Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” reveals the source of her distinctive hair color choice.

Never Share Your Desires With Others

In 1991, when Rodman was still a member of the Detroit Pistons, the team was vying for its third consecutive NBA title. Since Rodman couldn’t find his diary, he apparently decided to write his goals for the day directly on his scalp. They failed, in case you were wondering.

After being signed by the Chicago Bulls in 1995, Rodman certainly lived up to the maxim “Always make an entrance” in his debut game. In case you missed it, the symbol is permanently incised into his scalp.

Happy faces everywhere

If there was ever a haircut made specifically to put a grin on your face, it’s this one. As an aside, this icon’s design is a deаd ringer for the standard happy face emoji. So Rodman gets bonus points for that! Balls, Basket Balls, Tennis Balls, 1997

As a member of the Chicago Bulls, Rodman takes the art of confusing opponents to new heights in 1995 by wearing what amounts to a tennis ball while playing basketball.

Traditional Tribal Hair

It’s the late 1990s, and the first wave of tribal tattoos hasn’t even started yet, but Rodman isn’t patient. Before it was cool, this innovator had a tribal pattern dyed into his hair. Spice Boy (Year: 1999)

Rodman debuted his red and blue striped blonde barnet thirteen days after he turned 36. Some have speculated that he was trying to evoke the Union Jack in honor of Ginger Spice’s now-iconic Union Jack attire from The Brit Awards, which took place three months previously. Rodman, (1997). Before the advent of social media, in the 1990s, Rodman demonstrated his support for the LGBT community by dying the aids ribbon into his hair. A famous quote of Rodman’s is, “I felt like raising attention to AIDS. In 1995, I went to the playoffs with the AIDS ribbon colored into my hair. Our support is undying.

Look More Into It

It’s interesting to note that the pattern in Rodman’s hair is actually the number 33 and not leopard print. Teammate Scottie Pippen, who had foot surgery at the beginning of the season, missed the first 35 games of the season. Rodman wаnted to show his appreciation to the team by dyeing his number (33) into his hair for his first game back. 1998’s Brazen Coif, No Regrets

Who designed this style, a stylist or an architect? It’s a masterpiece, whoever made it. Simply Red (1997)

As of 2002, Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty” has been the biggest Һit of the millennium, and guess who she mentions in the song? Dennis Rodman. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be honored when you consistently produce hairstyles of this caliber (as seen by the lines “My block live and in color, like Rodman hair”). After then, his place in the annals of popular culture was assured.
