GOAT Meets the Next Generation: Messi Shows Off 8th Ballon d’Or to Inter Miami’s Rising Stars

Our team’s best player, Lionel Messi, brought back his most recent Ballon d’Or award and showed it off to the college players at the youth school on Thursday.

Messi’s Miami school made a movie with clips of him playing with kids and posing for pictures with the trophy and the team.

The 36-year-old player won his eighth Ballon d’Or, beating out players like Kylian Mbappe and Markovic.

He was seen bringing the trophy in a big case into one of the buildings at Miami’s practice site in a video on X. Following this, he met the young players who were ready for him.

Messi shook hands and hugged a group of players and then posed for a picture with them all together. Then he did the same thing with a younger group of people.

After that, someone joined him on the field, where he took pictures with both sets of players and their coaches.

Messi won his eighth title by beating Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Kevin de Bruyne. David Beckham, president and co-owner of Miami, gave him the Ballon d’Or that night. He won the Ballon d’Or because of how brave he was at the World Cup last December, when he scored seven goals to help his team win a historic game. Soon after, he signed a deal to leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Miami, which was a record.

Messi didn’t make it to the MLS playoffs, but he made a big difference for Miami right away. Before he got there, Miami was at the bottom of the league. In just two months, he took the team to its first club title. They won the first Leagues Cup in August.

It was close between Miami and Houston in the US Open Cup final in September, but Houston won.

This MLS season, Messi only played in six games because he was hurt or had to play for his country. He helped set up three goals in those games and scored one himself.

The Barcelona star and some friends were getting ready for a short trip to China that would include two matches. But the tour was recently called off because of things they couldn’t change.

“Respect for Chinese officials after the death of Li Keqiang, the country’s former second-ranking leader, last week,” the company that put on the tour said. This is why some people didn’t show up. For ten years, he was in charge of China’s money.
