Man Utd fans love Sir Alex Ferguson’s throwback gesture at Wolves game and joke ‘that will never get old’

Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary manager of Manchester United, was seen checking his watch on the touchline at Old Trafford, and football fans laughed hysterically.

The venerable Red Devils boss, 81, watched his former team defeat Wolves 1-0 on Monday night.

Fergie walked around the side of the field in front of the crowd before the game to get to his seat.

He was also seen looking at his watch, which many have cleverly interpreted as a reference to “Fergie Time.”

Ferguson frequently urged referees to play the permitted additional time when his side needed a goal – and called on them to blow the whistle when Man Utd were ahead – leading to the creation of the expression.

It was also linked to the fact that his squad usually scored significant goals in the last seconds of play.

Ten years after leaving his position as manager of Manchester United, a simple glance at his watch sparked a lot of discussion on social media.

Someone remarked, “I bet the touchline forced him to check his watch. Fergie Time as per usual.

One more said, “He’s still examining the watch. Time for Fergie.

He continues to have the habit of regularly checking his watch, a third person responded. Time for Fergie.

A fourth person chimed in, saying, “Fergie looking at his watch on the touchline will never get old.”

Ferguson led Manchester United for 27 years, from 1986 to 2013.

During his legendary tenure with the club, he won two Champions Leagues, five FA Cups, four League Cups, and 13 Premier League championships.

He currently serves as a director on the Old Trafford board.

He probably was not, however, impressed by Man Utd’s effort in their sluggish victory over Wolves.

Many times, Erik ten Hag’s team was exposed, and they had to rely on a late Raphael Varane header to save them.

Additionally, Wolves manager Gary O’Neil was incensed when a penalty was not given despite Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana seemingly putting replacement Sasa Kalajdzic down inside the box.

The PGMOL later apologized to the former head coach of Bournemouth, and the assigned referee and his VAR team have since been removed from this week’s games.
