Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese superstar currently playing for Manchester United in the Premier League, has shown no signs of considering retirement as he continues to dominate the football world. However, he has recently revealed another concern that occupies his mind for when he eventually hangs up his boots: housing for his entire family.
According to reports from Portuguese media outlets, Ronaldo has made a significant investment in the “Portuguese Riviera” by purchasing a £7 million plot of land in the Quinta da Marinha area of Cascais on Portugal’s west coast. Renowned for its luxurious appeal, the Portuguese Riviera offers a picturesque location, beautiful scenery, and a favorable climate. The land Ronaldo acquired is conveniently located just a half-hour’s drive from the center of Lisbon and offers breathtaking views of the sea.
Daily Correio da Manhã suggests that this investment is part of Ronaldo’s expanding fortune empire, while TV 7 Dias magazine speculates that the Manchester United star intends to build a mansion on the land as a future home for his entire family once he retires.
A resident, who is believed to be Ronaldo’s future neighbor, confirmed that the land has been recently fenced off, and construction plans are being prepared. This person shared their excitement, saying, “The land was fenced recently, and it was bought by Ronaldo. This is where he will go to live with his family at the end of his career. Everyone here knows that, and of course, we’re happy because he is Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo has not yet responded to these reports. However, in 2020, he acquired a £6.5 million villa spanning nearly 300 square meters on Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon, complete with a gym and indoor swimming pool. This property stands as the most expensive ever sold in Lisbon. Moreover, the Portuguese superstar owns various other real estate assets, including a mansion in the upscale La Finca complex in Madrid, a duplex villa in Turin, Italy, and a cooperative hotel empire with the Pestana Group.
