Clashing Perspectives: Lonzo Ball’s Sharp Retort to Stephen A. Smith’s Injury Claims

Chicago Bulls star Lonzo Ball hits out at Stephen A. Smith over his knee ιnjury claims in brutal response: ‘Who are your sources, bro?’

Lonzo Ball, point guard for the Chicago Bulls, responded to Stephen A. Smith’s recent tirade by not only confirming he will miss the entire 2023-24 season but also calling out Smith for spreading fake information.

For the second time in as many days, Smith has been publicly called out for spreading false information he claims to have learned from unnamed “sources.” After Smith reported on Monday that Bills WR Stefon Diggs wants out of Buffalo, Diggs responded by calling Smith out.

The 55-year-old’s claims that Ball still has knee difficulties and is finding it difficult to ‘stand up from the sitting posture’ prompted another heated response the next day. However, Ball yelled, “Stephen A., who are your sources, bro?” in a video shared on X [formerly Twitter]. Can you please identify your references? Aw, c’mon.

“Listen, dude, you need to quiet down. And I like you a lot, bro. I don’t know you in that way, but I still like you. I’ll be right back, dude.”@stephenasmith come to the actual source next time,” the video’s caption read. Ball was very obviously favoring his left leg as he vigorously stood and sat, as if to sаy, “I’m not hard to reach.”

It’s likely that the rapper Gunna’s Grammy-nominated song “meаn” was playing loudly in the background to help drive home his point (at least for those who knew the song). While on one of his daily rants on ESPN’s “First Take” earlier in the day, Smith remarked, “Those are doctors, something went wrong in terms of these procedures that he has had.”

In light of what we have learned about him, I don’t think he will ever be the same. He has trouble even rising from a chair, so I’ve been told. Playing 50, 60, 70 games a year and yet making the playoffs is impossible.

I feel terrible for him because, with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, the Chicago Bulls would be even better if they had a man like Lonzo Ball healthy. I pray that God would grant him the health he once had.

Since January 14, 2022, Ball has been sidelined due to recurring knee problems. After undergoing three knee operations in the space of 14 months, the Bulls are beginning to wonder if he will ever play basketball again.

The Bulls have formally requested $10.2 million from the NBA under the disabled player exemption for their injured guard and have submitted the necessary papers to do so.

On Monday’s episode of the From the Point by Trae Young podcast, Ball acknowledged that a knee ιnjury will force him to miss the entire 2017 season.Taking things as they come, man. I recently had a major operation that, God willing, will be the last of its kind for the rest of my life. It takes a lot of time. He announced, “I’m already out this whole next season.”

“We didn’t know what it was when I first got hurt. I went to see a plethora of specialists. My emotions were all over the place. That was challenging for me because I had no idea what the next day would bring.

“At least I finally had the operation. We have a strategy for the future. We have been following our strategy. I’ve got this. Let’s hope things pan out. Simply put, “I give it all to God, do my best, and accept whatever outcome comes my way.”
