A series of bright spots believed to be unidentified flying objects simultaneously appeared in the British sky. The incident has sparked many rumors about UFOs.

The bright spots were seen in Hythe, a small coastal town in the county of Kent, southern England. In addition, people in the nearby port city of Folkestone also saw mysterious glowing objects, according to Mirror.

Many people witnessed the light spot appear, some used their phones to take pictures and record it. A social media user named Jake Harvey posted a video recorded in Folkestone on Twitter.

Some interpreted the balls of light as possibly being flares from a military exercise taking place near the towns of Hythe and Lydd.

However, the British Ministry of Defense (MOD) confirmed that no exercises were being held in that area at the time the lights appeared.

“The east and south coast areas of Kent County are places where UFOs often appear. Towns here continuously report cases of alleged UFO sightings,” local media quoted a spokesperson for a group specializing in UFO research in Kent County.

The number of UFO sightings in the locality has increased significantly in recent years, according to Mirror.
