Although built in the 70s of the last century, Cosmic Cruiser still makes those who see themselves “stuck” because of its unique design.

Cosmic Cruiser is a car up to 10.3 meters long, around its body is painted with colorful motifs and has been around for decades. Accordingly, the car’s exterior is completely handmade by artist and car builder Ivan Benic from Canada because he wants to create his own style. The side of the car is painted with a picture of a woman in a bikini and a racing car, a waterfall and an image of the vast universe. Inside, the car has large benches, a bed with a sunroof, and enough space for an entire family to gather.

It took 3 years and a lot of money, Ivan successfully created the appearance of Cruiser.

Ivan started the idea of making a Cruiser in 1974, when he wanted to create the most beautiful car in the world. It took Ivan three years and a lot of money to build the Cosmic Cruiser we see today.

Cruiser has up to 8 wheels, weighs 4,717 kg, and has colorful flanks. At first glance, it may seem overwhelming and offensive, but the closer you look, the more you appreciate the effort to make it. Before becoming a Cruiser, it was a Chevrolet van that Mr. Ivan proceeded to cut in half to increase its length. Then he replaced the roof with another one from the 1969 Vista Cruiser – and this is just the first of a long list of custom equipment.

The nose part looks very unique compared to the late 1970s era.

Most of the Cruiser parts are custom, but Ivan notes that what’s underneath the front is genuine. He had to learn a lot about car building when he added two more axles in the front, but he also humbly said that “you can do anything” if you are willing to learn from others.

The sides, and the rear of the car are painted into a picture.

The front end looks striking and that’s what Ivan wants. He was determined to create something that had never been done before, and was extremely proud that he did it overnight. “The bodywork is completely handmade and the only thing left on the outside is the handle,” says Ivan.
