Kai Rooney’s incredible stats in the Manchester United youth team has left fans saying he will be “better than his dad” Wayne.

The England legend scored a staggering 253 goals in 559 games across a 13-year spell at Old Trafford to become the club’s record goalscorer.

Rooney signed as an 18-year-old wonderkid from Everton before he earned legendary status by winning five Premier League titles, one Champions League, one FA Cup and three League Cups.

Now it appears his 13-year-old son Kai, who is just three years younger than Wayne was when he announced his arrival in English football with a sublime goal against Arsenal, stands a chance of reaching the same lofty heights.

Kai was still in primary school when he was photographed signing a contract with England’s most successful club. In three years with United, he has taken the academy by storm and registered mind-blowing stats

The youngster proved doubters wrong by revealing he notched 56 goals and 28 assists the previous campaign back in June 2022. He has since gone strength to strength, scoring four times in a 5-4 loss to Liverpool last season and once in a 2-0 win over Manchester City in the under-13s National Cup North final.

And United fans on social media have unsurprisingly been left hopeful of what the youngster can achieve once he breaks into the first team.
