A newborn baby girl has been worshiped as a god by the Indian people because she was born with a nose like the elephant-headed god Ganesha.
Villagers in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India flocked to see the “divine” girl and they truly believed that she was the reincarnation of the elephant-headed god Ganesha – one of the most famous gods in Hinduism. with a unique identity – elephant head, human body. God Ganesha symbolizes wisdom, happiness and success according to the concept of the Indians.
Rajani, the baby’s biological aunt, said: “My sister-in-law gave birth to a baby girl and her face looks exactly like Ganesha. Everyone says she is the reincarnation of the elephant god. That’s why People flock here to see the baby and ask for blessings.”
This girl is the fourth child in a family. So far, despite having an elephant nose on her face, the baby is still in normal healthy condition. According to doctors, a tumor had grown in the middle of the baby’s eye and divided the baby’s nose into two distinct parts while he was still in the womb.
Doctors will conduct an examination of the girl to find out her condition and see if surgery is necessary for her. However, preliminary conclusions suggest that the girl’s condition may be a form of genetic mutation caused by malnutrition and environmental pollution.
In 2003, a report by the environmental magazine Down to Earth reported that workers in the Aligarh industrial park, India, faced “outdated wastewater treatment systems and poor working conditions”. Perhaps this is one of the main causes of birth defects in this region.
