Mery Perelló turned 36 on July 7 and they celebrated in Greece. Rafa took the day off and showed off his skills as a chef by preparing “a brothy rice (Mallorcan style) for the team and family,” as he himself shared with his followers through a fun video. At the meal was his wife, who came to the event in a navy blue dress and a beach hat, and also his coach Carlos Moyá, who also has a lot to celebrate with his wife, Carolina Cerezuela, with whom he celebrates his 17th anniversary and 13 years of their wedding in Mallorca.

Last year at this time, Rafa Nadal and Mery Perelló enjoyed a holiday with their son in Greece when the baby was barely nine months old. Now that he is over a year and a half old, they are living their second summer as parents. Since he was just a few months old, she has travelled with her parents to wherever the tennis player competed and in recent months she has attended tournaments, which has led to Rafa Nadal’s son has become the protagonist of some events such as Roland Garros, and has become so familiar with the world of tennis that he has a mini racket among his toys. On June 16 they celebrated their baptism in Manacor (Mallorca) in an intimate and simple ceremony attended only by their relatives.

Rafa Nadal announced his upcoming retirement from the tennis courts last year, during a press conference in which he spoke of his expected retirement in 2024. However, the player is not sure if that will be the case. At the moment, he has all his eyes set on the Olympic Games, where he will compete in doubles with Alcaraz. “At the sporting level, right now, what I do is try to play the things that I think my body allows me to do and the second thing is what really excites me. Right now I want to try to be as well prepared as possible for the Olympics . Carlos [Alcaraz] is in a fantastic moment after winning in Paris and I will try to be well prepared enough to be a good partner for him.”

Rafa, who turned 38 on June 3, gave up participating in Wimbledon, where Alcaraz is currently competing, to prepare for the Olympics. However, before traveling to the French capital, he is expected to reappear in the Bastad tournament (Sweden) between July 15 and 21. Mery Perelló and her son are Rafa’s greatest supporters and this trip to Greece has been the best destination to recover energy before his next date on the courts. Go Rafa!
